Our Favorite Local Farmers Market Finds

Every Saturday, the Jaco Farmers Market (Feria del Agricultor) comes alive with local vendors selling fresh Costa Rican produce and artisan goods.

What to Look For

Tropical Fruits: Fresh mangoes, papayas, pineapples, and maracuyá (passion fruit) picked at peak ripeness. The flavor is incomparable!

Local Coffee: Freshly roasted Costa Rican beans from nearby plantations. Stock up for your stay and take some home!

Fresh Coconuts: Vendors will crack them open for you on the spot - perfect refreshment in the tropical heat.

Handmade Tortillas: Watch local women make fresh corn tortillas right before your eyes. Grab a stack while they're still warm.

Organic Vegetables: Locally grown tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro for cooking at the house.

When to Go

The market runs from 6 AM to 12 PM every Saturday at the municipal market building. We recommend arriving around 8 AM - early enough for the best selection, but late enough that all vendors are set up.

Bring cash (colones or dollars) and reusable bags. Haggling is not customary at the farmers market - prices are already fair!
